The Turning Point of My LifeAs long as I can remember, I've been a believer. I was raised in a Catholic family and sought for God from my teenage years. But my thirst for God was not satisfied, neither were my questions answered concerning who God is. Where is He? How can I find Him? Is He represented here on earth? Those were my questions for many, many years of seeking in mormonism, philosophies, religion, gnostcisim, etc. I felt, deep within me, the need to find an answer, to find God, an answer that could satisfy my thirst. I have a brother, with whom I am very close, who was searching with me. We both prayed desperately to find the place where God was represented on this earth and to have fellowship with some believers. We had been visiting some denominations, but we felt that our search wasn't over. It was the summer of 1989, in Spain, when the Lord finally answered our prayers. We had been invited to a home meeting where some believers were gathering for prayer and fellowship. I still remember the shining smile of the Christian brother who opened the door. As soon as we entered into the living room where the believers were meeting, something in me was telling me: “This is the place; all these people are your family.” And my brother had the same feeling. I was amazed. How could it be, in this small apartment, in an area of the city that wasn't very attractive, with people that I just met that I felt at home? But one thing I knew: God was answering my prayers. The fellowship with these people was so rich, the atmosphere so peaceful! I felt the presence of the Lord. I began to read the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee which made the Bible more clear to me. I began to understand better the eternal plan of God, the purpose of our human life, and the Christian life's ultimate goal: the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:2, 10). I realized that God made me of three parts--body, soul, and spirit. He made me with a human spirit to contain Him. God became a man, Jesus, who lived a human life with human sufferings, who died on the cross for my sins, was resurrected the third day and became the life-giving Spirit who dwells in my human spirit. It was the turning point of my life. I discovered that I had a human spirit, and that the Lord lived in me. His purpose was to grow in me and saturate me with His divine life. I later had the opportunity to attend a full-time training for Bible truth and service in Anaheim, California. I want to testify that this training was so helpful to me in my search to gain Christ! I thank the Lord for His faithful servant, Witness Lee, and also Watchman Nee and all the believers before them who consecrated their lives to serve the Lord. I am very thankful to Witness Lee for teaching me the unsearchable riches of Christ, and for his work and dedication until the last day of his life. May the Lord be so rich and merciful to us all!
